COMPETITION APPLICATION & GUIDELINES

COMPETITION SUBMISSION CRITERIA

You will need to upload the following as part of the required application.

1. Executive Summary of the product or service (max. 2 pages, Times New Roman, 12 pt) [REQUIRED] addressing how the product or service meets the criteria of the competition. The executive summary must indicate how it meets one or more of the following competition criteria:

• Value proposition – what impact on a healthcare issue, for patients, etc. Describe the problem statement and how the product/service addresses the need e.g. addressable market.
• Technical areas – Access, Service Delivery, Patient and Provider Operations Management, and Interoperability across the Continuum of Care
• Privacy and security – Appropriate safeguards have been designed to provide end-to-end data security amongst parties that protect the privacy of the patient’s data, identity, and/or secondary use.
• Adaptability and flexibility – patient and provider-centric design that enables comfort with technology to assist with clinical care.
• Extensibility – designed to adapt to technological changes in the long term and include integrated other design principles and/or services.
• Scalability – the ability to cross over into new and established markets, impact use, and adoption for broader impact.
• Inclusivity, accessibility, and feasibility for all patients – The ability to create equity through technology and innovation. Applications may include solutions for those with disabilities, the unconnected, healthcare disparity, etc.
• Interoperability – the ability to effectively exchange and support workflows and associated information from the source (patient) to other points in the patient data journey.

Optional questions to be address in the executive summary:

• Indicate if your product meets one or more national regulatory privacy guidelines (US HIPAA, CA CCPA, EU GDPR, China PIPL/DSL, etc)
• Whether you have filed and/or received FDA/EU MDR or other regulatory compliance certification. If Yes, indicate which regulatory compliance you have filed/received
• Have you conducted any clinical trials?
• Have you or the team filed and/or received a patent for your product/design? 
• Is the product/design based on/available as open source? 

2. Video Pitch of your product/service (max. 3 minutes) [REQUIRED]. Provide the URL of the location of the video. Video uploads will not be accepted.

3. White Board – Poster of your Product/Project [Optional]. Product brochures, PowerPoint presentations, and fact sheets will not be accepted.

REQUIREMENTS

All required components must be submitted on or before 31 May 2023. If the application is not completed in its entirety, it will not be reviewed by the competition judges.

NOTIFICATIONS

All entrants will be notified one week (7 June 2023) after the entry deadline if their application has advanced as a Top 10 Finalist.
