Realizing Smart and Sustainable Agriculture through Standardization
Amid the urgent need to respond to global food security and global environmental issues, the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) has a mission to realize "Society 5.0 in the field of agriculture and food industry" at an early stage and to contribute to the achievement of SDGs. We are working to utilize our comprehensive strength as Japan's largest research institute in the fields of agriculture and food industry. Standardization activities, including coordination of opinions and interests among various stakeholders, are important for this purpose. Together with the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA), which has played a central role in international standardization for many years in the field of telecommunications, we will hold a workshop to look at future standardization activities while looking at concrete examples, and by disclosing this, we will broadly cooperate.
By attending this workshop you'll learn about smart & sustainable agriculture and:
- Gain a better understanding of NARO's initiatives, mission, goals and objectives
- Learn about the activities, projects and standards related to smart & sustainable agriculture from IEEE SA
- Hear about some of the emerging trends in Japan and globally
- Network and meet the industry leaders, researchers and other stakeholders
