Every year on 14 October, IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA) joins the international community in celebrating the importance of standards development and honoring the collaboration of individuals and organizations across the globe who drive technological innovation.

In celebration of World Standards Day 2022, we invite you to join us for a virtual trivia game and test your knowledge of IEEE Standards in our everyday lives.

The first-prize winner will receive $500; the second-place winner will receive $300; the third-place winner will receive $100.

FAQs

Q: Who can participate?
A: The contest is open to anyone who is 18 years old and older in any country where permitted by local law, except for employees of IEEE, its agents, affiliates, and their immediate families.

Q: Do I need to pay to participate?
A: No. This contest is free of charge and hosted by IEEE SA in an effort to celebrate 2022 World Standards Day and raise awareness of technology standards.

Q: How do I enter the contest?
A: Please register for the contest by completing the form above. You will receive an email with instructions to log onto the Kahoot! website before the contest starts on 14 October.

Q: What questions will be asked?
A: The virtual trivia game will consist of 20 questions covering the basics of World Standards Day, IEEE Standards, and IEEE SA.

Q: How do you choose the winners?
A: Three (3) winners will be selected based on the automatic scoring system in Kahoot! against the following criteria:

• Speed of the answer
• Accuracy of the answer
• The answer streak
