IEEE SA Wordmark

Open RAN Summit (Hybrid)

Thursday, 26 May 2022 | 9:00 am - 5:00 pm ET

  • Virtual
  • Kossiakoff Center, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory

Open RAN is a key enabler of 5G and future network technologies. It will make the Radio Access Network of an end-to-end 6G system more distributed and disaggregated.

Through open RAN, we will embrace new functionalities such as software-defined networking, virtualization, programmability, closed-loop automation, and orchestration, which will enable a more resilient network, dynamic resource scheduling, dynamic spectrum sharing, and edge security monitoring.

At IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA), we have seen an enormous interest in open RAN and how to accelerate the development, deployment, and advancement of this technology.

This hybrid summit will provide a platform for vendors, operators, academics, and regulators to discuss the research, standardization, trials, and application of open RAN in various areas beyond telecom.
