Free Webinar Series:

Designing Inclusive, Human-Centered Products

Those who develop and interact with cutting-edge technologies are often faced with questions such as: Why are we building or using this solution? How can these solutions be shaped to be people-first instead of technology-first? How can these technologies be leveraged to solve grassroots-level problems? What would a meaningful process for identifying explicit and implicit user needs look like?

This is where human-computer interaction (HCI) processes come in. IEEE SA is hosting a Designing Inclusive, Human-Centered Products webinar series to bring awareness to this topic and help answer the above questions.

Designing and Shaping User-Centered Solutions for Our Next Billion Users (NBU)

Thursday, 11 August 2022 | 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM EDT

Every week, millions of people come online for the first time. And everyone — no matter their location, language, or digital literacy — deserves an internet that is made for them.

At IEEE SA, we are building a community of experts and leaders to exchange ideas and come up with a proposal for standards through the formation of the User-Centered Approach to Designing a User Interface for Rural Communities Industry Connections (IC) Activity

In the first webinar of the series, we invite speakers from Google’s Next Billion Users (NBU) team to share their methodologies for designing and building new zero-to-one products that are both relevant to their needs and usable in their context.

Who Should Attend the Webinar Series?

Professionals, enthusiasts, and students in human-computer interaction (HCI) and user experience research and design are welcome to attend.

We also welcome computer science, AI, ML, IoT, electronics, and electrical engineers and technical product managers who are curious to understand the types of processes they can adopt toward building solutions to address user needs.

What Will You Learn?

You will see first-hand how user research and design principles can be applied to shape meaningful products and services for the next billion users (developing markets) with illustrative examples.

You will also learn about a practical process that is replicable for your use case as well as principles and framework for identifying actual user needs and building new zero-to-one technologies.
