MIND THE GAPS: GENERATIVE AI IN
FUTURE AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS
Hybrid Workshop
Location: Online or In-person at Espai Catalunya Europa (Ground Floor), Brussels, Belgium
Thursday, 19 October 2023 | 09:30 - 18:00 CET
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This workshop will review the state-of-the-art in Generative AI, explore current practices of its usage in the automotive sector, and envision future adoption opportunities and related challenges and risks.
Key industry leaders from Europe, the United States, and Asia will share their views and be available for Q&A. Attendees will have opportunities to interact with speakers and comment on the technological, business, and regulatory challenges. Researchers are encouraged to share latest research results and innovators to come up with disruptive concepts.
There has been a lot of excitement and an increased interest in Generative AI, among researchers, engineers, and other business and government professionals, as well as the general public. Many different kinds of Generative AI applications are mushrooming, seemingly accelerating the digital transformation of all industry sectors, including automotive.
Generative AI comprises tools to generate content including text, images, moving pictures, music, and even code based on patterns learned from data. But what really is Generative AI's potential? And what place does it have in transportation, and in particular, the automotive industry? What are the missed opportunities, challenges, and risks?
Generative AI has the potential to increase productivity through automating tasks along the entire lifecycle of a vehicle. Preliminary studies show the potential of Generative AI in automotive design and in enhancing interactive personalized customer services. But could Generative AI facilitate the adoption of shared mobility services? What is its potential to improve traffic management? Which engineering tasks can be automated? Could it even power our next car's AI-based driving assistant or ultimately the automated driving system? Will it become an integral part of the automotive industry or be adopted selectively?
