BEHIND THE WHEEL:
WHO IS DRIVING THE DRIVERLESS CAR?
Webinar
In the past few years, autonomous vehicles (AV) have become a hot topic in policy, industry and amongst the general public. Prospectively, these driverless cars promise not only a significant reduction in traffic fatalities, but also a new vision for the future of mobility: one where comfort, connectivity and even a concern for the climate form the bedrock of the user experience.
Even if the technical performance of current autonomous vehicle technology lacks much of this lustre; the potential ethical and societal impact of driverless cars constitute other, perhaps deeper roadblocks. Questions of liability and privacy, accessibility and transparent functionality, along with driverless accidents have all damaged the public acceptability of driverless cars, making it an open question on whether their future implementation is truly desirable.
The result has been an ongoing media frenzy that not only escapes the realities of many autonomous vehicle manufacturers, but also threatens to leave the beliefs and expectations of many consumers in the dust.
This webinar series tackles these myths, legends and future aims of AV deployment head-on, addressing ethical, legal, technical and market challenges in candid expert interviews, all with the aim of exploring who and what is driving the future of driverless cars.
In the first webinar, join artificial intelligence experts as they take a deep-dive into the ethical aspects of driverless cars and address key issues and misconceptions, legislative hurdles, and in the case of unavoidable collisions, whether these cars might one day make improper choices on the world's roads.
